What's New25 September 2009 Here are some of the changes in the plans to be implemented for the website change, over time: I'll be removing weaker pictures and replacing them with stronger ones; I'll be removing smaller pictures and replacing them with bigger ones; I'll be adding more and better pictures to the "rotators" – the randomly selected pictures that show up on the front page when you come to the site; I'll be changing the name of the site to Naturography; I'll be changing the color scheme to a black background, gray letters, and hints of green, blue and purple; I'll be changing to an easier-to-read font; I'll be removing the navigation menu bar from the bottom and then making the pages fit on one screen; I'll be moving my blog onto this site; I'll be redesigning the picture pages to all refer to one, central rice list for fine art prints, and one central price list for stock; I'll be streamlining the navigation menu bar down to "fine art" / "licensing" / "education" / and "about"; and I will be moving the navigation menu bar from underneath the title to beside the title, in order to take up less room. I'm sure I will come up with even more changes, but those are the ones I have planned, right now. Thanks for your patience. 24 September 2009 As you can see, it's been more than three years since my last update. This website has been dormant for a long time. I'm in the process, now, of bringing this website back to life. I'll be adding a lot of new content, removing a lot of old content, and redesigning and re-doing most everything. The change likely won't be quick. It'll be a gradual process, as I fix things up, a little at a time. To start with, I've already corrected hundreds of typographical errors. It's small, but it's a start. I'll keep you informed. 6 June 2006 My email address is now working. Just click on the email address at the bottom of any page on this site. I've posted a new article, called Nature Photography FAQ. It can be found on the Essays page, which, in turn, can be found on the Articles page. In it, I give direct answers to questions I frequently get asked. I will continue to add questions and answers over time. If you have any unanswered questions you'd like me to address, please email them to me. I've also updated Close-Up Lens Considerations, adding a bit more information, in a few places. It can be found on the Quick Takes page, which can be found on the Articles page. In other news, SanDisk, Lexar Media, PNY Electronics, FujiFilm, and Kodak have reached a settlement in the class action lawsuit against them. If you've purchased a flash memory device from one of these companies, between February 1, 2000 and February 7 2006, you're allowed to receive 5% back on the price you paid, or a 10% discount toward a new flash memory device. You can also read Digital Photography Review's Hands-On Preview and Steve's DigiCams's First Look. With a legacy of Konica Minolta's camera body design savvy, a 10.2 megapixel sensor, in-camera image stabilization, sensor dust control technologies, and Carl Zeiss lenses, this looks like a strong first entry into the consumer DSLR market. 5 April 2006 Welcome to Mike Spinak Photography, the website for Mike Spinak's fine art prints, photo stock, photo workshops, private photography lessons, photographic services, photo critiquing services, and photography-related writing services. This entire website is new, just now coming online. It is so new, in fact, that it still incomplete. I've only posted a few dozen pictures; there are still numerous dead links and various errors; and my email address is not yet functional. Please bear with me patiently while I finish building this site as quickly as possible. Until my new email address becomes functional, please contact me at mikespinak @gmail.com (remove the space after the letter "k" to make this address work). You can view my photo gallery by clicking on the Photos buttons at the top and at the bottom of this page. This gallery will be growing quickly, so please check back, again. So far, I have posted six articles: Professional Nature Photography: The Price of Admission Lowepro Off Trail 2 Trekker Beltpack Review Once I have the basics of my website fleshed out, I will be posting more articles frequently.
