Passion Flower

About This Picture

I took this picture on my 35th birthday, in a close friend's yard in Seattle, Washington. This picture was an experiment of using a 1:1 macro lens with a 1.4 teleconverter. The conditions were dark overcast with light rain starting. I needed a long exposure, and was struggling with a light breeze moving the flower, so it took several tries to get one where the passiflora flower was still during the entire shot. Taken with a Canon 1DS camera, Canon 180mm f/3.5 macro lens and Canon 1.4 II teleconverter. f/25, 1.3 seconds, with the mirror locked.
